Rollover on Cornville switchbacks

CORNVILLE -- A Cottonwood woman was treated at the scene of a rollover accident on the Cornville switchbacks Friday morning. 71-year old Beverly Horton was then taken to Verde Valley Medical Center. The accident was reported about 7:15 a.m. A witness told the Sheriff's office the vehicle was seen weaving for a mile before the wreck. Investigators wonder if she fell asleep at the wheel. The woman was eastbound, drifted off the right side of the roadway and then over-corrected left and the 2001 Chrysler van rolled

@switch back hype.
I don't think this is a case of the news paper over sensationalizing the news. The road leading down into cornville has always been called the switch backs. If you ask any resident or local familiar with this stretch of road they'll most likely call it that too. It's what I know it by and say to others when referencing it.

I hope the person recovers. But, to call the curves in the road to Conrville "switch backs" is a bit over done. It is nothing more than a curvy road down a gully. I have seen curvy roads in Kansas that are steeper. While I am at it, why is a 4 inch thunder storm in the midwest, or 8 inches of snow in Iowa, less dramatic than a 1inch "Monsoon" in AZ?
